SPW Campus Representative Application 2016-2017
The Society for the Psychology of Women (SPW) was established in 1973 as Div. 35 of the APA. The society is devoted to providing an organizational base for all feminists, women and men of all national origins who are interested in teaching, research or practice in the psychology of women. Our purpose is to promote feminist scholarship and practice, and to advocate action toward public policies that advance equality and social justice. We are a voice of feminist issues within organized psychology.

Among universities and colleges across the country, SPW Campus Representatives promote feminist scholarship, research, activism and practice; give a face to Division 35 among students; and encourage awareness about diversity and social intersections as they affect women’s lives. Campus Representatives are supported by their fellow Representatives and the Student Representative as they create and organize programming that highlights feminist thought in psychology on their campus.

Campus Representative duties, to be accomplished over the 2016-2017 academic year, include:
1) Create and execute at least 2 SPW-related events
2) Write a minimum of 2 FemPop blog posts
