Candidate Recommendation Form: BPS Bilingual Educators' + Accelerated Community to Teacher (BE/ACTT) Program

The Bilingual Educators'/Accelerated Community to Teacher (BE/ACTT) program prepares diverse community members to become provisionally licensed teachers in the Boston Public Schools.  In this unique 12-month accelerated teacher preparation program, participants develop their practice in the four domains of the state’s teacher evaluation system.  Working alongside highly skilled teachers and community partners, cohort members are prepared for MTELs, participate in workshops, complete a pre-practicum, and assemble competency-based portfolios.  Those who successfully complete the program are eligible for the BPS Teaching Fellowship, a 12-month practicum for first-year teachers to develop strong instructional practices in actual Boston classrooms.

In order to help the selection committee gain a deeper understanding of the applicant, we are asking you to provide candid responses on this recommendation form.  Thank you in advance for submitting the form promptly.  If you have any questions or concerns, contact the selection committee at diversity-ACTT@bostonpublicschools.org.

Please submit this recommendation on behalf your candidate as soon as possible. We select our candidates on a rolling admission basis. Kindly ask your candidate when they would like your recommendation submitted. Deadline for all applicants is June 1, 2022.
