Healthy soils are critical for sustainable cities, offering numerous ecosystem services such as biodiversity, provision of food, air quality regulation, climate buffering, water and erosion regulation. However, urbanization and climate change are putting immense pressure on these vital resources, limiting their ability to deliver these services and meet our essential needs.
Bringing together soil science planning and design, the project
Spatial Planning and Design with Soil (SPADES) has the mission to develop, test and implement soil-inclusive spatial planning strategies in order to support the transition towards soil health in Europe, and beyond.
This survey aims to collect inputs from the planning communities, notably planners and municipalities. To maintain confidentiality, collected responses will be anonymously reported in the open-access SPADES publication.
Are you involved in spatial planning? Are you interested in the relationship between soils and planning and design? Do you want to help shaping the future of soil health?
Then we would like to hear from you! SPADES would greatly benefit from learning from your experiences. It would be very much appreciated if you could take 10 minutes of you time to fill out our survey!
