YIP Board Prep Program: Spring 2018 Application
Thank you for your interest in the Board Prep Program!

The Board Prep Program is a 6-week intensive training program supporting young professionals who are interested in being non-profit board members - or who already serve on boards - and are seeking an education in thoughtful, engaged, and dedicated board service. The course provides an introduction to key components of board leadership, and gives students the opportunity to meaningfully connect with, and learn from, local nonprofits in the area. Board Prep also affords students the opportunity to join and network within our vibrant, diverse, and deeply engaged community of alums working hard to make Philadelphia the wonderful city that it is.

The topics of our classes are (not necessarily in this order):

- Introduction to Boards & Panel Discussion (or other similar topic)
- Strategic Planning
- Fundraising
- Financial Management
- Legal & Ethical Responsibility
- Beyond Board Diversity

At our Breakfast & Graduation events, students are introduced to non-profits currently recruiting for board & committee members; this event is invaluable for both graduates looking to match with boards, as well as current board members who will find partners, collaborators, and new networks.
