The El Diamante High School Hall of Fame was founded to recognize and celebrate the positive accomplishments and contributions of El Diamante High School alumni, employees, coaches or volunteers, and contributing community members. Honorees will be recognized for outstanding achievement in their chosen field, leadership, the arts, athletics and volunteer/community service. Nominees with outstanding records of achievement deserving of special recognition are eligible.
Areas of Consideration
• Achievement - Alumni, employee, coach or volunteer at EDHS whose distinguished actions have led to outstanding recognition in their chosen vocation on a local, national or international level are eligible.
• Leadership - Alumni, employee, coach or volunteer at EDHS whose leadership has led to outstanding recognition in their vocation or another area of expertise or outside interest on a local, national or international level are eligible.
• Arts – Alumni, employee, coach or volunteer at EDHS who has established an outstanding record of achievement in the visual or performing arts on a local, national or international level that would make them deserving of special recognition are eligible.
• Athletics - Alumni, employee, coach or volunteer at EDHS who have established outstanding records of achievement in their chosen sport(s) on a local, national or international level that would make them deserving of special recognition are eligible.
• Volunteer/Community Service - Alumni, employee, coach or volunteer w/EDHS whose actions and/or achievements may not be categorized in the above, but are deserving of such recognition and honor.
Criteria for Selection
To be eligible for selection, individuals must have graduated from EDHS at least 5 years prior to nomination. Employees, coaches or volunteers that have retired are eligible immediately following retirement. Employees, coaches or volunteers that are still working but no longer at EDHS or those that retired from EDHS there is no time frame limit. Individuals meeting this criteria that are deceased are also eligible
***The committee has the discretion to waive the year cushion requirement on a case by case basis with good reasoning provided there is a unaminous committee agreeance to the decision.***
General criteria to be considered in the evaluation shall be:
A person(s) whose actions demonstrate outstanding character.
A person whose outstanding citizenship has achieved international, national or local recognition.
A person(s) whose leadership can inspire students in the pursuit of excellence.
A person(s) whose accomplishments are outstanding or whose leadership is considered exceptional.
A person that has gone above and beyond the normal call of duty to improve the lives of the students on campus as well as provide a better name for EDHS in the community at large
