We are pleased to announce that the second TAMSAT User Forum will be taking place on 16th June 2021 (09:00-12:00 UTC).

The primary objective of this forum is to provide a platform for users to share their experiences of using satellite data to enable other users to benefit from scientifically credible information to support climate services across Africa. This can include examples within both operational and research activities. This event will form a series of user forums to be held on a regular basis allowing participants to share latest seasonal climate bulletins and to discover developments within the user community.

Naturally, the focus of this forum will be rainfall, but we realise the importance of other variables, such as those relating to agriculture (e.g. vegetative conditions) in climate services, and as such, welcome talks demonstrating the use of any satellite-based data in climate services. As a community of users, it is only through sharing real life examples that we can discover new datasets and applications, and identify solutions for existing challenges. As such, these user forums can be an essential part in the uptake of satellite data to enhance climate services. The forum will also provide an opportunity to engage with the TAMSAT team and other invited guests!

If you are interested to share your work at this forum or just attend, please complete the form below. Further details will then be emailed to you in early June. If you have any questions, please contact the forum organisers, Emily Black ( and Ross Maidment (
