First Friday Fest Application + Contract
Pasifika First Fridays Artist Sign Up: Thank you for your interest in applying as an artist! Each application is good for the months chosen for the festival. An artist (and we include contemporary craftspeople in this category) can apply for multiple First Fridays as soon as applications are online. Please make sure to read ALL the information.
Participants will be given a specific load-in time after their fees are paid. Rio Grande St will be shut down to cars at 6pm. Any participant arriving after that will have to park elsewhere and load materials in from outside.
The event begins at 7pm and runs until 11:59pm. All artists must be in place and ready to exhibit at 6:45pm.
The event ends at 11pm. You are required to stay open until 11pm. No early teardowns allowed or you will not be invited back. Roads will not be opened for vehicles until all pedestrian traffic has been cleared and you will be notified of that by the Event Director.
The jury consists of local artists. They will review all art and fine crafts to determine who shall be accepted into the festival. Criteria include mastery of medium, creativity, originality, overall effect of the artwork. The jury’s decisions are final. There will be a wait list of artists each month. Acceptance notification will be e-mailed, as well as wait list artists.
Publicity for the event includes citywide newspaper, periodic radio, and TV coverage, electronic media, social media, and e-blasts. The event is presented by the Pasifika First Fridays in collaboration with The Gateway. Our sponsors vary each month.
