Paid Research Study: Registration for Workshop to Share Climate Change Impacts on LTBB Farming, Gardening, Hunting, Fishing, and Gathering
Aanii!
The below members of the Michigan State University GLISA Research Team invite you to register to attend one of two workshops that will engage LTBB community members in a discussion of the impacts of climate change on Indigenous farming, hunting, fishing, and gathering. This research is funded by the Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessment (GLISA), a collaboration between the University of Michigan and Michigan State University supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The workshops have three primary goals:
- to survey tribal community access to technologies to build resilience to climate change;
- to support the development of partnerships with tribal community members to understand climate change challenges and to promote greater tribal access to relevant technologies; and
- to share knowledge about smart technologies and their role in facilitating adaptation to climate change.
This workshop is motivated by a desire to address the unique needs, values, and culture of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, and the MSU GLISA Research Team is committed to working with LTBB members based on the values of respect and reciprocity.Miigwetch,
