Auditions are by appointment. Auditions are open to 5th grade and older. Auditions take place February 10 and 11, 2018 at Brightstone's studio (560 Jerry Smith Drive in Watkinsville).
Adults:- For your audition time, choose a time to sing/read AND a time to dance. You must sign up for timeslots for BOTH (1 timeslot for sing/read AND 1 timeslot for dance).- During your sing/read audition timeslot: Prepare 16 bars (or 30 seconds) from a Broadway show. Bring an accompaniment track (on your smart phone) or sheet music for live piano accompaniment. You may also be asked to read or sing from the script.- During your dance timeslot, you will be taught choreography to be performed in a group. Everyone will complete the basic choreography routine. If you have some dance training or experience, please stay for the intermediate dance, as well. If you are trained/experienced in tap dancing, please stay for the tap audition, too (please bring tap shoes).-Requested shoes for dance: - Basic choreography (ALL): Bring/wear shoes in which you can dance. Do not plan on going barefoot or wearing tennis shoes. For males, dress shoes work well. For females, character shoes are the best choice. Jazz shoes are also a good option for anyone. - Intermediate (some dance training/experience): Same as above. - Tap: Tap shoes (flat is best, but heels are ok).- If you are an adult who prefers not to sing and/or dance in the show, that's fine! We have several roles that are just acting roles. Just let us know, and you will NOT have to sing and/or dance for you audition. Or if you'd only like to sing as part of a group in the show, that's fine, too! You will not have to sing solo for your audition.
