Midwest Craft Con Workshop Proposal 2020
Thanks so much in your interest in presenting at Midwest Craft Con, a conference for craft business owners and creative entrepreneurs happening February 28- March 1, 2020, in Columbus, Ohio. Our keynote speakers for 2020 are Twinkie Chan and Sara Trail. We're looking to the creative community to find new DIY instructors, groups, and makers to share their expertise and workshops with us, but we welcome previous Midwest Craft Con instructors to apply too. Please fill out the form below with your specific pitch for a session by July 28th to be considered for Midwest Craft Con 2020.

DIY workshops are deigned to offer attendees a chance to explore a new skill-set or advance existing skills. These classes will be made accessible to all individuals attending the conference. You can see last year's full class schedule here: https://midwestcraftcon.com/2018/01/14/hands-on-craft-and-diy-workshops

There are 3 options for teaching a class:
1) 3 day Class:
Classes offered each day of the conference: 1.5 hours in length and offered each day of the conference. You will be expected to teach the same class 3 times over the course of the weekend.
Compensation $400 plus 2 night hotel stay with an extra ticket to the conference to allow for an assistant.

2) Advanced classes:
Offer a workshop that requires two sessions, each session being 1.5 hours each.
Compensation: $250 with hotel covered (room sharing) and 1 ticket to the conference.

3) Offer a one time class:
1.5 hours. Projects should be completed in this time frame.
Compensation: $150 with hotel covered (room sharing) and 1 ticket to the conference.

Midwest Craft Con covers the cost of all the supplies while also covering all the shipping and receiving of materials. Instructors will work with the Workshop Coordinator to finalize a material list and keep to a project budget for their workshops.

Invited DIY Instructors will receive an honorarium and admission to the three-day conference with some additional surprises. We aren't able to extend invitations to everyone who submits ideas, but we hope you will plan to join us in 2020 no matter what! We will be in touch later in the fall either way.
