It is a beautiful morning in Mornelle Court, Toronto. Kids are getting ready to leave for school. Waiting in green vests outside their homes, is the Safe Walk Program volunteers, ready to walk them safely to Military Trail Public School. They have been a part of these children's lives from as early as ages 6 to when they turn 13. Between 8:00 am and 8:45 am they would walk through a neighbourhood that was formally scarred with death and violence, to school. Not only does the program make sure they get to school safely but it also brings them back at 3pm to the After School Program which commences at 6pm. Students are offered Stem Tutoring to help them with homework and build on creativity. Watch the video and learn more about the Safe Walk Program.
