Leadership Union Grove
Leadership Union Grove attempts to identify those individuals who are most apt to utilize their leadership for the long-term benefit of the community. Basic criteria for this selection are:

1. Individuals with a sincere commitment to the betterment of their community.
2. Individuals wishing to increase their involvement in the community, whether by serving in public office, holding an appointed position, volunteering, of by being a more interested and better informed citizen.
3. Individuals with an interest in the Greater Union Grove Area, either as a resident or as a member of a stakeholder group.
4. Individuals who represent a cross section of the community.

*Attendance: Class begins with a two day Opening Retreat in September. The retreat is followed by eight full day sessions held on the second Wednesday of each month, October - May. Class begins promptly at 7:45 am ( light breakfast provided) and ends at 4pm (lunch provided). Attendance at all sessions is required for graduation. There will be some assigned reading and occasional homework to prepare for the next class. Employers / Sponsors will be made aware of the student's attendance.

* Community Projects: Students will be participating in small group work, which will require work outside of the regular session. Additionally, students will be asked to commit their time to a community project. The amount of time needed to complete the project will be determined by the consensus of the group and the scope of the project. Projects will need approval of the Leadership advisory board before commencement.

* Tuition: Cost of LUG is $650. Tuition may be paid by a sponsor, employer, or the individual. Full or partial scholarships may be available to those candidates who indicate a need for such assistance, and information can be obtained by contacting the Greater Union Grove Area Chamber of Commerce. Once the program has begun, tuition is non-refundable.

If selected as a Leadership Union Grove participant, I understand that I am agreeing to the program involvement as outlined above. My employer/sponsor will be aware of my progress and involvement in the program by regular email updates. My employer/sponsor will also receive a schedule of advance notice of the meeting dates.
