1. Students enrolled at VIS must have adequate supervision by parent(s) or an appointed legal guardian who are residing within Vientiane, Laos as per VIS policy.
2. lf during the academic school year both parents/guardians plan to leave Vientiane or Laos while the student remains in attendance at VIS, they must appoint a temporary guardian and notify the school in writing as far in advance as possible. Parents/legal guardians are required to complete and send to school the form on the reverse side of this page each time they plan a trip away from Vientiane. This temporary guardian must be at least 18 years of age and NOT a current student at VIS.
3. Because illness, accidents and unforeseen problems can occur at any time, the school requires that the duly appointed guardian live directly with the child to provide adequate care and supervision.
4. Parents/guardians who do not arrange for and inform the school of the student's supervision and guardianship as indicated above, may jeopardize his/her future and continued enrollment at VIS Please be assured that the school's concern in this matter is not intended to interfere with the personal responsibilities of parents. Past experience has shown that, while a student is attending VIS, the school must be able to contact parents or their temporary guardian directly at any time.
B.In case of an emergency or any exceptions to the above policy, parents/ legal guardians are to speak directly to the principal of each of your child’s division.
C. If different temporary guardians are involved, please complete a separate form for each child in the family.
D. Complete a form for each trip planned away from Vientiane/Laos. One form will not cover several trips.
