MTCC Caribbean and MTCC Latin America, under the International Maritime Organizations’ (IMO) TEST Biofouling Project is preparing to deliver a training course on the “Introduction to Marine Biofouling: Impacts and Management of Risks”. The TEST Biofouling project builds on the GloFouling Partnerships Project that has achieved the sharing of knowledge and training on the issue of Invasive Aquatic Species (IAS) and biofouling. The training course aims to provide a detailed introduction to the multiple aspects related to marine biofouling, its role as a vector for the introduction of IAS and the management solutions and technologies that are available. The training course is designed for a wide range of participants, including representatives of maritime-based industries (shipping, aquaculture, fishing, offshore oil & gas and mining, etc.), relevant government administrations (ministries of transport, environment, maritime and port authorities, fisheries, coast guard etc.), and environmental NGOs.
