Atlanta Word Works: AWW Poetry Collective Application
Thank you for your interest in joining the AWW Poetry Collective. This year at VOX, through Atlanta Word Works, our spoken word and poetry performance programming, we have decided to introduce a poetry collective as a way to build better community, writers and civic engagement. The goal of this collective will be for poets to come together on a regular basis to grow in their skills as writers, performers, community members, and peers.
The Poetry Collective is a CLOSED group (meaning it is a set group of people) that will serve up to 5-7 teens during the fall and spring semester.
To be eligible to participate you must:
- Be a teen (13-19) in the Metro Atlanta area
- Be interested in growing as a writer, performer, and community member
- Complete the following application in its entirety, including parent/guardian permission if under the age of 18
- Be able to commit to the following: meet with the collective two Saturday's per month, participate in a end of semester performance, support one community poetry workshop or open mic, and publish on VOX ATL in the multimedia form of your choice
Runs from January 25, 2020 through May 9, 2020
Meetings will be held twice a month on Saturdays from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Showcase Date: Saturday, May 9, 2020
