TTO's QTPOC Artists and Youth Relief Fund 2.0
The mission of The Theater Offensive is to present liberating art by, for, and about queer and trans people of color that transcends artistic boundaries, celebrates cultural abundance, and dismantles oppression.

TTO knows that QTPOC art is life-affirming; healing is a core part of QTPOC artistic production. In times of immense disruption and uncertainty, artwork by queer and trans people of color helps us build connections, illuminates truths, and calls on us to recognize and affirm human dignity. TTO recognizes the disproportionate impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has on QTPOC communities. In particular, QTPOC performing artists and youth are facing lost income and financial insecurity, especially as unemployment benefits expire.

TTO has established a fund of $10,000 to provide temporary financial assistance to Greater Boston's QTPOC performing artists and youth affected by the pandemic. Temporary Assistance can be used for anything the recipient has need of-- food, rent, education, utilities, healthcare, art/creation supplies, artistic support/sponsorship for upcoming events, etc.

A limited number of $250.00 grants will be awarded to qualifying applicants until the established $10,000 amount is exhausted. Applications will be reviewed biweekly. Support is being offered in two categories: Grants to QTPOC ARTISTS and Grants to TTO YOUTH. Please read through the qualifications below before filling out the application:

QTPOC ARTISTS must
--> Be a self-identified Queer and/or Trans Person of Color.
--> Live in the Greater Boston area (please visit https://www.tbf.org/nonprofits/geographic-area-served to see if you qualify)

And describe either --
--> Having experienced lost income from live performance cancellations due to COVID-19/lost new performance opportunities due to COVID-19
--> How the grant can support them artistically and/or financially at this time

TTO YOUTH must
--> Have participated in True Colors: OUT Youth Theater programming - i.e. True Colors Troupe, Task Force, CAC, Studio, LIC - within the past four years (2016 - present)
--> Live in the Greater Boston area (please visit https://www.tbf.org/nonprofits/geographic-area-served to see if you qualify)
--> Describe how the grant can support them artistically and/or financially at this time

All qualifying artists and youth are encouraged to apply. Essential workers, Asian and Pacific Islander-American artists, artists over the age of 50, immunocompromised artists, and youth are especially encouraged to apply. TTO stands in solidarity with all communities experiencing increased racism and/or xenophobia and all forms of oppression related to COVID-19.
