I have been active in PNLHA for several years serving as a Trustee, Vice-President – WA, and President since 2015. I believe PNLHA serves a wonderful role in our labor movement and I strive to grow our organization and to help it be stronger as one organization while being active in our local areas

Candidate Statements: Brian Charlton: I am a retired postal worker living in Courtenay BC. I am active on my Labour Council and I also chair the Executive Board for the Cumberland Museum. The PNLHA can be an important part of ensuring Labour history, and its spirit of resistance is kept alive in the hearts and minds of activists and historians in BC, Washington, and Oregon

Candidate Statements: Jim Cook: I am a retired USPS letter carrier, a member of the NALC Branch 82, and AFM Musicians Local 99. A cofounder of General Strike, a Portland labor band in 1987, I’ve been aware of the power and an advocate of working class culture, especially our history. Chair of the NW Oregon Labor Council’s History Committee since 1993, I’ve collaborated with PNLHA through the years producing labor history and other worker culture events. As Oregon Vice President, working with our PNLHA President, Executive Board, Trustees, and others, I will honor, continue, and expand on the great work, conferences and events of the past four decades.

Candidate Statements: Conor Casey: I am excited at the prospect of continuing to serve the PNLHA as Washington Vice President. I have been a PNLHA member since moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2010, I have served as Washington Trustee since 2012, and have served on the 2015 and 2018 Conference Planning Committees. My service to PNLHA also includes initiating the migration of the PNLHA website and initiating the transition into the email list management system Constant Contact. The PNLHA has represented a key organization to present my research, collaborate with professionally as the director of the Labor Archives of Washington, and a key stakeholder in work as labor archivist. Candidate Statements: Brenda Doolittle: I, Brenda Doolittle, am PNLHA Treasurer USA. I was appointed and then elected to this position 4 years ago which includes being a member of the PNLHA Executive Board. I have been involved in the promoting of the PNLHA labor history calendar for the past 20 years assisting Ross Rieder. My commitment to PNLHA in preserving labor history for the people of the Pacific Northwest is an on-going goal.

Candidate Statements: Joey Hartman: Joey Hartman has served on the PNLHA executive board since the late 1980s. She is the president of the Vancouver and District Labour Council and routinely integrates labour history into her work.

Candidate Statement: Stephanie Mikos: I am relatively new to PNLHA but I am very interested in labor history. I have over 30-years of experience in administrative/Executive assistant positions, most in bargaining units (IAM Machinists, OPEIU, WEASO, SPEEA-Tech). Employment has been at Boeing (with secret clearance), Northrop Grumman, IAM District 751, and currently Washington Education Association. Past contract historian for IAM/Boeing collective bargaining agreements and was seated at the main table in IAM/Boeing, WEA/WEASO and WFSE negotiations and bargaining portions of Northrop/Grumman, Boeing/McDonnell-Douglas mergers. Past executive assistant of IAM/Boeing Joint Programs. My current position at WEA includes over 11 years as associate staff (mostly executive assistant/meeting planner) and currently manage the office at Tacoma Education Association. I have also served two terms as Secretary of our employee union, WEASO.
