Please support Louisville Sex Education Now's guidelines.  

Louisville Sex Education Now (LSEN) is working to advance comprehensive sexuality education guidelines for all JCPS middle and high schools. These guidelines would advise School-Based Decision Bodies that sexual education should include information not just about medically accurate reproduction, but should address healthy relationships, sexual violence, consent, self esteem, LGBTQ health and identity, and domestic violence.  This does not take away any power from SBDMs--this would empower them to pick the curriculum that is inline with their school's culture.  By passing the guidelines, you are helping to empower teachers, administrators and SBDMs to teach to the standards that already exist.

Did you know that currently the state standards are so vague that both teachers and administrators are not sure what they can and cannot teach?  This has created an environment where some schools out of fear or uncertainly do not teach sex education while other schools in the district are teaching some form of sex education.  

Our students and teachers deserve better!  Our students should receive the same education no matter their district or economic status.  This is why we have come together to work towards advancing comprehensive sexuality guidelines through the Jefferson County School Board.
