"Save Our Sounds" - Music at UNSW
We are a group of UNSW Music students who are reaching out to the wider student community about the current Bachelor of Music. This short survey aims to gather general perceptions of the music degree with a focus on student visibility. It will also be used as part of our MUSC4102 project.

All responses will remain anonymous.

Have you heard of the Bachelor of Music at UNSW (BMus)?  *
Please describe your experience with/knowledge of the BMus.  *
In 2022, the BMus was substituted for a Bachelor of Fine Arts (music specialisation). The School of Arts, Design and Architecture (ADA) rationalised that, by shifting to a more general degree which increased the units of credit dedicated to free electives, students would be provided greater freedom to choose courses outside of the music program. Consequently, the music program was condensed from four to three years, with several music courses removed entirely or thinned in content.

Prior to this survey, had you heard about this change?
*
Do you agree with ADA's rationale?  *
Please explain why.
Have you ever heard of or attended a concert run by UNSW's music department (e.g the Music Performance Unit)?
*
What would you expect a concert run by UNSW's music department to be like? (i.e types of performers, genres, location, atmosphere, audience)  *
