Register For Finding Your Civic Voice Workshop: Shoreline Management Act Rulemaking
This fall, the Washington State Department of Ecology released its latest draft of the updated Shoreline Management Act rules, which will shape the management of Washington's coastal areas.  The public comment period is open from Sept. 2 until Nov. 17, 2026.

Public comment is a vital part of our democratic process and a way for residents of Washington State to participate in shaping the laws and policies that govern our daily lives and have a major impact on our environmental and climate futures, including the Shoreline Management Act and the regulations that enforce it.

Join us in the process of finding your own, unique voice as an environmental and civic advocate. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have an effective, personally meaningful comment ready to submit to the Department of Ecology either in writing or aloud.

The workshop will be held virtually on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 12–1:30 p.m. PST.

This program is free and open to the public; however, space is limited.
