Hi, my name is David Dansereau and I'm a stroke survivor and patient advocate. I am gathering data from nonprofit and volunteer stroke support organizations in the United States providing stroke education, peer support, and survivor services to better understand the challenges public non profit organizations (SSOs)* face in sustaining their work and securing funding. If this survey was forwarded to you and you missed my introduction email you can read it here with this survey announcement.
I am requesting your help! It will be helpful in my research if you could complete this survey even if you formerly operated a SSO and have had to stop (if group is currently inactive). Your work is vital and it is a heavy lift, I get it and that's why I am writing about it in my next book, Closure After Stroke. Your input in this survey will be a valuable contribution to my ongoing stroke advocacy work and the completion of my book.
To thank you for your participation, I will offer you an advanced reader copy of my book when it becomes available. Kindly leave your contact information at the end of this survey if you are interested.
My disclosures: None
*Abbreviations used in this survey:
SSOs=Stroke Support Organizations | AHA/ASA = American Heart and Stroke Association
All responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate and no questions within are required answers. Share what you feel comfortable with sharing as I am trying to learn from your collective lived experiences. Thankful for the valuable work you all do for stroke and grateful for your help!
