ACPA - MI 2017 - Les Carlin Professional Development Grant
The purpose of this award is to encourage a new professional to take advantage of the fellowship of a conference and the benefits of ACPA - MI membership. Candidates for the award should be individuals currently employed in a student development area of higher education who have not previously attended an ACPA - MI conference. The award covers the registration fee for next year's conference and a one-year ACPA - MI membership. Any current ACPA - MI member may sponsor a candidate for the award. It will be the responsibility of the sponsor to provide transportation and arrange accommodations for the award winner to attend the award ceremony. The sponsor will also be invited to introduce the winner at the award ceremony. The award will be given to the nominee with the greatest potential for active involvement and future leadership in the association. Nominations should include a description of the nominee's qualifications for this award. Les Carlin was ACPA - MI president in 1954-1955 and he served as a counselor at Central Michigan University for 33 years before he retired as professor emeritus in 1981.

Nominations must be submitted by October 6, 2017, for consideration. Please direct any questions regarding the award process to Heather Sandlin, ACPA - MI Past-President, hsandlin@wayne.edu
