Two Performers

PROPS/COSTUMES
Washing Well Wenches is technically very simple. Washing Well Wenches provide all props,
costumes, and set decorations.

PLAYING AREA (MINIMUM)
• 12’ x 10’ x 1’ (Length x Width x Height). We require some kind of backdrop behind the playing
area so that we can hang laundry, signs, etc. (It adds fantastic ambiance to the space, and it
also helps to bounce sound off of.)
• A platform one step high (approximately 16 inches tall, 4 feet deep and 8 feet long) for the
performers to stand on. It will be placed in front of the wash pit for stage levels and sight lines.
• Access to stage must run the length of the front of the stage. No side-only access, no specific
front-only access; patrons and performers must be able to step onto and off of the stage from
any front angle. Our show is best viewed from the front, not a thrust or in the round.

WASHPIT
Each venue will supply either an oval OR round horse trough large enough for the performers to
safely jump in to. Standard tanks are either galvanized steel or plastic. Washpit must be placed
in center of stage.
• MINIMUM TROUGH SIZES: Oval - 6’x2’x3’ feet (Length x Width x Height) OR Round - 6’
round *Any smaller tank sizes must be approved by Washing Well Wenches
• Water source and hose to fill horse trough

LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS
• If performing outside during the day: NONE
• If performing outside at night, or in any inside venue: A standard wash of the stage is
acceptable. Performers just need to be seen clearly.

SOUND REQUIREMENTS
Washing Well Wenches tours with its own wireless microphone system (wireless lavaliers and
their corresponding receivers). It does not tour with speakers or mixer.
Each Venue will provide the following:
• A sound system for the performers to plug into (speakers, sound amp, mixer, control board,
etc.)
• Electrical plug ins
• Technical support as needed

BACKSTAGE
Washing Well Wenches require a backstage with some kind of secure, enclosed changing
area. The performers can easily share a backstage space with other acts as needed, but as
they get wet during the show, the Washing Well Wenches need to be able to quickly, privately,
and discreetly change in between each show.

LOAD IN
For festivals: required one day before a performance (minimum). For all other events, the
Washing Well Wenches will work with the event coordinator to determine what time is needed.

SEATING
For festivals: adequate seating with shade enough to protect the view of the audience. For all
other events, the Washing Well Wenches will work with the event coordinator to determine
what will suit the audience best.
