CUC Conference 2018: Call for Proposals
Please read this description before submitting your proposal. Deadline is Oct 31, 2017.
STREAMS: Are held on Saturday and are about 4 hours in total over the morning and afternoon. Streams are cohesive, participatory / interactive, and designed to appeal to participants from diverse backgrounds and with different goals. The streams should present new and compelling ideas about the conference theme, "An Invitation to Love and Justice," and have an impact on personal or spiritual practices, congregational health and leadership, community vitality, and/or lifespan learning. We are particularly interested in Streams which combine the contributions of two or more experienced facilitators.
MULTIGENERATIONAL WORKSHOPS: Are held on Sunday and about 1.5 -2 hours in length. These should also address the conference theme, and are designed for multi-age groups, including youth, young adults and adults (i.e. aged 14 and up), and, if possible, younger participants. We are particularly interested in Workshops facilitated or co-facilitated by youth and young adults and religious educators.
ALTERNATE ACTIVITIES: Please fill in the information on page 2 if you have a proposal that is neither a stream nor a workshop.
DECISIONS: The Conference Program Planning Committee (PPC) will receive and evaluate all proposals, and expects to receive more proposals than can be accommodated in the Conference program. The PPC will work with the Facilitators to ensure that the Conference meets the needs and wishes of diverse peoples attending. As part of our commitment to diversity, please let us know if you identify as part of an underrepresented group and how your personal experience informs your topic. We are very appreciative of facilitators’ contributions, and offer a discounted registration for facilitators.
