Venue / Dates/Cost:
All-Star
teams from Illinois, Gulf, and Indiana Swimming will be competing in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, May 31
– June 2 at the 4th annual Age Group Duel in the Pool. This long course
Prelims/Finals meet
will showcase the fastest athletes, ages 11 – 16, from three of USA Swimming’s
highest performing LSCs and promises to be an exciting three days of fast
swimming. Travel days to and from Indiana will be Thursday, May 30 and Monday, June 3. The cost of the trip for participants is $600.
LSC Team:
Each LSC may
enter up to 72 swimmers – 12 girls and 12 boys in each age group: 11-12, 13-14,
15-16. Swimmers are limited to four (4) individual events for the meet.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Each
applicant’s age and corresponding age group shall be determined by the first
day of the competition, May
31, 2024.
For the 11-12 age groups, applicants with the highest power point value from
either SCY or LCM times in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free, 400/500 Free, 50 Fly, 100 Fly, 50 Back, 100 Back,
50 Breast, 100 Breast or 200 IM will automatically make the team.
For the 13-14 and 15-16 age groups, applicants
with the highest power
point value from either SCY or LCM times in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free, 400/500 Free, 100 Fly, 200 Fly, 100 Back, 200 Back, 100 Breast,
200 Breast, 200 IM or 400 IM will automatically make the team.
The
remaining spots for each age group will be filled by applicants with the most
power points for their two highest power point values from either SCY
or LCM times. ONLY power
point values for those events swum at the Duel in the
Pool meet will be considered. (11-12 age group events: 50-100-200-400-500 Free, 50-100
Fly-Back-Breast and 200 IM. 13-14 and 15-16 age group events: 50-100-200-400-500-800-1000 Free, 100-200
Fly-Back-Breast and 200-400 IM.) The Age
Group Power Point Systems calculator in Meet Manager 8.0 will be used. Note: 11-12 yr-old swimmers will use the
12-yr-old power points, 13-14 yr-old swimmers will use the 14-yr-old power
points, and 15 -16 yr-old swimmers will use the 16-yr-old power points.
Only SCY or LCM times achieved in 2023
– 2024 short
course yards season from September 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024 that are listed on the USA Swimming SWIMS database for this
qualifying period will be eligible for consideration. In order to be selected for the All-Star team,
applicants must have swum in at least one (1) Gulf Swimming sanctioned meet in
the 2023 – 2024
season.
Each applicant must submit
the required Swimmer Application form by the entry deadline. Additionally, the coach/team shall enter each
applicant into the meets
titled “Meet Events-DIP SCY Entry Times-31May2024-001.zip” for
SCY entry times AND “Meet Events-DIP LCM Entry Times-31May2024-001.zip”
for LCM entry times using the Hy-tek meet event files posted on the Gulf Swimming website HERE. Email

All applications
are due by 11:59 PM on April
2, 2024. The final All-Star team will be announced on April 9, 2024. The $600 payment will be due after the final All-Star team is published. Payments shall be made by credit card through
Gulf Swimming’s Gulf Pay system. The deposit
is non-refundable.
