RageBridge Project User Survey

The RageBridge is a new single-board dual-channel reversible DC motor controller. RageBridge's philosophy is to be simple and robust. We're a little tired of the latest overpriced motor control products that take 8 different kinds of inputs, have 5 encoder channels with built-in PID, USB, and HDMI, but aren't really good at driving motors.

As we finalize the design to get ready for production, we'd like to hear your opinion on what choices and features you want! Mixing takes two normally orthogonal inputs such as a 2-axis joystick or transmitter stick and lets one control "throttle" and the other "steering".

Would you use a built-in "exponential" throttle curve feature?

Exponential throttle curves help achieve finer control at low speeds, such as making your robot turn more smoothly.

Throttle commands torque instead of speed, independent throttle and regenerative braking inputs, and Reverse switch.

One of RageBridge's innovations is a constant-current output mode where it will automatically change its output voltage to maintain no more than 60A into a load, per channel. This means that motors, even if stalled, will not draw more than 60A. Below 60A, the controller responds directly to throttle inputs. Would you benefit from this feature?

A known maximum output current benefits the design of drivetrains and manipulators by setting a maximum torque the motor is capable of.

The 30 day limited warranty would only protect you from dead-on-arrival or manufacturing defects.
