2019 Louisiana CONA Returner Supplement
The YMCA Youth Conference on National Affairs was started in 1968 as a follow-up to the large number of successful state programs conducted by the YMCA throughout the nation. This program offers unusual opportunities for a young person to do research in the area of National and International concern; to organize this information into a documented proposal; to engage in intensive discussion and to debate these proposals with understanding young people from other states. Young people who have participated in the YMCA Youth Conference on National Affairs are unanimous in their belief that this experience makes a vital contribution in helping young citizens to learn more about the democratic form of Government.

Delegates of the Louisiana Youth & Government program that are interested in joining the 2019 Louisiana Delegation must fill out the below application and a selected group will take part in an interview process (either in person or over the phone).

The supplement is due at the latest by 11:59 PM on March 1st, 2019. Thank you for your interest and cooperation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our National Programs Directors:

*A note to returners: Invitations to CONA are a great honor and should never be taken lightly. In years past, we fill our delegation with the intention of selecting delegates with a diverse array of attributes and evidence of success in speech and debate. Ultimately, this means that attending CONA once (or twice, or three times, for the matter), does not ensure an invite. Every year individuals who have attended CONA and re-apply are not selected. We do not simply ensure all previous attending CONA delegates are selected and then look at the rest of the field. Every year we select what we believe to be the best delegation to represent Louisiana. By completing the below application, your interview, and continuing to show us your character by your performance at our conferences - that, my friends, is your ticket to proving you deserve to be on Louisiana's 2019 CONA Delegation.
