SF Blockchain Week: Governance, Law and Policy Roundtables
On Thursday October 11th, 2018, join us for an invite-only gathering at the heart of San Francisco’s blockchain community ecosystem to learn about, hack on, and discuss blockchain governance, law and policy. Some of the world’s top experts in these fields will be listening and sharing perspectives on how the intersections of governance, law, regulation, and policy with blockchain technologies promise both extraordinary new opportunities, but also create serious new risks.
Speakers/moderators include:
- Vlad Zamfir, Ethereum Researcher, on Blockchain Governance
- Tju Liang, Ethereum Foundation General Counsel, on Blockchain Regulation
- Oliver Goodenough, CodeX Stanford, Computational Law Researcher and Fellow, on Smart Legal Contracts and Blockchain Boilerplates
- Dazza Greenwood, MIT Media Lab, Legal Scientist, on the Open Media Legal Hackathon
- Tony Lai, Founder, Legal.io and CodeX Stanford Blockchain Group, on Blockchain, Identity, and Trust Architecture in Legal Systems
- Noah Thorp, Founder, CoMakery, on Building Blockchain Communities
Drinks and a light dinner will be provided before the roundtables begin. There will be space for breakout groups to form and report back to the main group. A more detailed agenda and reference materials will be shared ahead of the event.
Following the roundtables, musicians, smart contract developers, and policy experts will continue their work on the Open Media Legal Hackathon, which will be set up to involve music, beverages, and collaborative licensing arrangements.
Date/Time: Thursday October 11, 2018. 18:00 - late.
