21C Community Learning Center VIRTUAL PROGRAM REGISTRATION - 2020/21
**PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO COMPLETING REGISTRATION.**
Welcome to the all-new 21st Century Community Learning Center virtual program!
While we cannot be with students for an in-person program at this time, we look forward to working with students and families virtually. Through digital resources and the collaboration of teachers, district staff, and community partners, the all-new 21CCLC virtual program will offer live academic sessions through Google Meet, a variety of daily enrichment activities, Fitness Rocks! lessons, daily writing prompts, and more. Welcome to the fun!
The 21CCLC at your school is now offering new virtual clubs, activities, and academic assistance. ALL STUDENTS are welcome to participate in the virtual portion of the program. By completing this registration form, parents/guardians and students will have access to the new virtual program; however, this does NOT guarantee admittance to any in-person programming offered at sites when schools are in-person or hybrid.
Participants of in-person/hybrid programming offered by 21CCLC programs at each site will be determined by the site coordinator and leadership team at each school. Having been a prior participant of the program does NOT guarantee admittance during the 2020/21 school year, as due to health and safety regulations surrounding COVID-19, the capacity of each program's daily attendance has decreased significantly.
REGISTRATION FOR THE VIRTUAL PROGRAM WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL COVINGTON SCHOOLS AND THE 21CCLC PROGRAMS OPERATE FULLY IN-PERSON.
Open to K-8 students registered with Covington Independent Public Schools. (NOTE FOR HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: If the paper version of the registration form was not completed at the beginning of the year, Holmes High School students may also register for the high school program by completing this registration form. Completed forms will be shared with the CLC coordinator at the high school.)
The program is divided into two divisions: Elementary and Middle. Elementary includes students enrolled in grades K-5 during the 2020-2021 school year. Middle includes students enrolled in grades 6-8 during the 2020-2021 school year.
Virtual programming begins Monday, September 21, 2020, and will take place Monday-Friday each week. The virtual program will continue throughout remote learning/hybrid learning with Covington Schools.
The majority of activities offered will be digital with pre-recorded videos, downloaded activities, etc., and can be completed at any time. All "live" activities (including academic sessions via Google Meet) may vary in times provided and are subject to change. All "live" sessions will be offered only at times noted in the daily schedule. (NOTE FOR HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: The program will take place primarily through Google Classroom with links to various activities and academic assistance.)
Supplies to complete activities will not be provided. The majority of activities will use at-home and basic school supplies.
The all-new 21CCLC website will house all daily activities for students K-8. The site will be linked to the Covington Partners site (
) and the district site (
) and will be available for access beginning September 21, 2020. (NOTE FOR HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: The program will take place primarily through Google Classroom with class code: oxfk5sw; however, high school students can still access the CLC site for a schedule and other links.)
LIVE ACADEMIC SESSIONS:
Certified teachers from each school will be available during scheduled times through Google Meet sessions. Links will be provided on the all-new 21C virtual program website. Live academic sessions via Google Meet will take place at various times Monday-Thursday each week. If technology is not available for video conferencing through Google Meet, a call-in number will also be provided as an alternative option. (NOTE FOR HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: The program will take place primarily through Google Classroom with links to various activities and academic assistance. Live sessions will also take place via Google Meet.)
In order to monitor engagement, program staff may call to check in with students and families at various times throughout the program.
DAILY ATTENDANCE SURVEY:
Students/families will be expected to complete a daily survey to document participation/attendance.
If a family has more than one student registering, a registration must be completed for each student.
By registering for 21C Community Learning Center virtual program, students/families are expected to:
1. Participate as much as possible. Daily attendance is not required but encouraged.
2. Complete a daily attendance survey. (Surveys do not need to be completed on days which the student does not participate. Completion of a daily attendance survey is crucial to provide data for accountability.)
3. Follow district, school, and 21CCLC program policies, especially if participating in video conferencing or phone calls.
4. Have fun!
