WSSD GRADES SUMMER CAMP 2025-2026 REGISTRATION FORM

Important Summer Camp Information: 

  •  Placement is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Grade level refers to the grade the student is entering next school year. 
  • To ensure optimal teacher - student ratio, there will be a camp of 24 spots in each camp.
  • Drop-in or daily rates are not available.
  • Deadline to register is June 5th.
  • If a current student, you will receive an invoice to pay through your school account on June 8th.
  • For non-WSSD students, you will receive an email with instructions to pay via paypal or check.
  • No refunds will be issued.
  • Students not currently enrolled at WSSD must also complete the Emergency Contact & Medical Information Form.

All camps run from 8:30am - 3:00pm. Each themed week is $365 unless otherwise noted. All camps will be held at our Altadena Campus: 3547 Altadena Avenue, San Diego, CA 92105
WK 1 (JUNE 29 - JULY 3) HERBAL CAMP with Ms. Nazdira & Mr. Louis
Students will learn about the specific herb of the day; they will attain an in-depth understanding of the plant's energetics and how we can use it to support our body. We are also going to make herbal remedies and learn how to incorporate herbs in our daily lives. The kids will take home an herbal remedy that they create daily.
WEEK 2 (JULY 6 - 10) MUSIC MAKING & STORY TELLING with Ms. Natalie & Mr. Louie
Listening, responding, and creating! Through guided listening, discussion, and activities like call-and-response, creative notation, songwriting, and collaboration, students explore storytelling through sound. Inspired by diverse genres, the class emphasizes world-building, creativity, and expressing ideas through music.
WEEK 3  (JULY 13 - 17) HONORING SEVEN DIRECTIONS with Ms. Araceli & Ms. Iliana
This camp explores balance, nature, and self through the seven directions: East, South, West, North, Sky, Earth, and Center. Each day begins with storytelling and hands-on nature experiences. In the workshop, students independently build and decorate a miniature project using cardboard, natural materials, clay, and paint.
WEEK 4 (JULY 20 - 24) TAKE FLIGHT! with Mr. Johnson & Ms. McGrady
Students explore the art of flight, from planes to rockets, through hands-on crafts and experiments. They investigate how things fly and build a hollow wooden plane. Daily stories and drawing spark imagination, while afternoons include games, and water play, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and confidence to soar.
WEEK 5 (JULY 27 - 31) GARDEN CAMP with Ms. Ryah & Ms. McGrady
Students grades 2-6 will learn about all the life stages of a vegetable garden from preparing the soil and planting seeds through harvesting. They will also encounter flying, creeping, and crawling Friend, Foe, and Frenemy "bug life" each day. Creative grounding exercises will help each student connect with Nature. Garden crafts like seed bombs and edible herb bouquets will go home with campers throughout the week. 
WEEK 6 (AUG 3 - 7) GARDEN CAMP II with Ms. Ryah & Ms. McGrady
The gardening theme continues from W5.
WEEK 7 (AUG 10 - 14) FURNITURE BUILDING with Mr. Johnson & Ms. McGrady
Campers build a transformable chair, step-stool, and bookshelf using simple mechanics. They learn safe use of hand tools like saws, hammers, and sandpaper while developing strength and perseverance. The finished piece goes home at week’s end. Afternoons include indoor/outdoor games and water play.

The undersigned shall hold harmless, indemnify and defend The Waldorf  School of San Diego of and from liability for any claim of any nature rising out of any activity, conduct, act, or omission, of the  undersigned.
