Gus Williams Bio:
Williams began his career with the FAW Trust in 2000 as an Academy Auditor progressing through football development and coaching roles.
Throughout that time, he also built up coaching experience in academies such as Tranmere and Wrexham.
He has spent the majority of his career since 2009 with the FAW in a range of roles such as Coach Educator, Youth Coach, and Talent Identification Manager.
In his 25 years of experience coaching and recruiting he has helped play a part in the development of numerous players with names like Dan James, Harry Wilson, David Brooks, Ethan Ampadu, Neco Williams and our very own Danny Ward, progressing through to the Welsh National Team in his time.
The UEFA Pro licence-qualified coach also spent time as the Head of Player Recruitment at Blackburn Rovers during the 2022-23 season.
In that time, he helped grow the recruitment department and implemented a bespoke data-based system, before returning to the FAW.
