The DREAM-Specialized High Schools Institute (DREAM-SHSI) is a 22-month intensive program that prepares 1,500 economically disadvantaged middle school students for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test beginning in the Spring of their 6th grade. In an effort to help expose DREAM students to specialized high schools, AlumNYC is excited to partner with DREAM-SHSI so that DREAM students can learn more about each of the eight specialized high schools from the people who know them best - specialized high school alumni.

Alumni will have many opportunities to support DREAM-SHSI students, including:
• Speaking to classes of DREAM-SHSI students about your experiences attending a specialized high school
• Mentoring a DREAM student throughout their specialized high school career
• Guiding a tour of your alma mater for prospective students and parents
• Representing your alma mater at high school fairs and other events for prospective students and parents

By applying below to support DREAM-SHSI students, you will be matched to one of the opportunities you select. For any questions, or if you would like us to provide you with an official record of your community service hours, please contact Kara Gurl at KGurl@schools.nyc.gov.
