SWAAN Online Attendance Registration
Memorial University uses the Cisco platform WebEx.

The program has a testing feature at https://www.webex.com/test-meeting.html.

Webex is available to download at https://www.webex.com/downloads.htm

Most people will be able to attend a WebEx event through their browser, without the need to download the app or create an account. Most of the online participation will be facilitated through the 'Chat' function, allowing our online room to run a conversation in parallel to the in-person conversation, moderated by a workshop volunteer. The volunteer will pose questions and relay comments from the Chat to the in-person guests as requested. A parallel structure will allow both conversations to develop and flow naturally without neglecting one or the other. The presenters may use their scheduled time as they wish, but the SWAAN committee will encourage that dedicated time will be given to a Q&A period to ensure that online guests are able to participate.

CODE OF CONDUCT

In keeping with the definitions laid out in Memorial University's policies regarding maintaining a Respectful Learning Environment and Respectful Workplace, and preventing Sexual Harassment, the SWAAN Workshop aims to provide a welcoming, educational, professionally engaging, and safe experience for everyone. While the subject of the workshop will inevitably involve sensitive topics, harassment of any kind, discriminatory language and/or imagery (including sexual), and verbal and non-verbal behavior which demeans another person or group will not be tolerated.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion from the event, or banning the offender from future events.
