At Ingersoll Scout Reservation (ISR) staff develop and strengthen valuable life skills, including teaching, communication, leadership, problem-solving, public speaking, teamwork & working in small groups, and more. In addition, staff members share experiences and become very close-knit, which often leads to lifelong friendships. They are a positive role model for campers who look up to them. And although this is a paid summer job, it is also a lot of fun.

The ISR staff is an example of excellence in Scouting including proudly wearing their BSA or Camp uniform and adhering to ISR standards of personal conduct. The principles of the Scout Oath & Law are practiced as a way of life.

Ingersoll Scout Reservation is operated by the W. D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Requirements for Staff at Ingersoll Scout Reservation
Candidates must be at least 16 years old to qualify for paid staff positions. In addition, some special positions require the candidate to be 18 and some require candidates to be 21 years old. Typically paid positions are for the entire summer camp season. To be considered, please complete the 2020 ISR Camp Staff Application.

Candidates that are 14 or 15 years old may apply to be an unpaid Counselor-in-Training (CIT). If interested please complete the Counselor-in-Training Application. CITs may come to camp as many weeks as they are available during the summer camp season.

The Camping season typically runs from early June to late July. In 2021, the majority of positions will be employed from June 6th until July 10th. If you have a conflict with part of the Camping season, please include the dates and explanation as part of your application.

The staff reside in housing provided by ISR and eat with the other staff and campers in the Dining Hall. Salary is based on a tiered schedule that is linked to position responsibility and Ingersoll experience.

If you accept a job at ISR, you must register with the BSA, complete both BSA Youth Protection & Harassment Prevention training, and complete other required paperwork including Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) & Withholding (W-4) forms.
All Candidates are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible. Interviews for Senior Positions will be held in the fall. Other interviews will be held in December & January. Candidates will be notified regarding date, time, and location of interviews.

Applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed in the spring until all positions are filled.
