READ THIS GLOW COMMITMENT CAREFULLY. BE SURE YOU AGREE WITH ALL ASPECTS BEFORE SIGNING.
Thank you for your interest in joining Gahanna GLOW. We are a unique, fun social club making a real difference in the lives of others through our support of numerous central Ohio nonprofit organizations (NPOs). We are excited to welcome you into the GLOW community.
Be sure you understand how GLOW operates by reviewing www.gahannaglow.com. Once you complete and submit this form, you are automatically a GLOW member, and you will receive a welcome email in the next day or two. Meetings occur the 4th Wednesday of January, April, July, and October. You must be a member by the 1st day of the meeting month to vote at that quarterly meeting. I UNDERSTAND how GLOW operates and I COMMIT that four times per year...
- I will donate $100 DIRECTLY to the selected Impact Award NPO, as chosen by majority vote
- I will donate even if the selected NPO did not receive my vote, or I was unable to vote
- I will donate even if I was absent from the meeting
- I will make every effort to complete my donation on the night of the Give
- If absent, I will complete my donation within SEVEN DAYS after the Give
If I am unable to attend the quarterly Give meeting, then I will send a check with an attending member to submit on my behalf; or within SEVEN DAYS of the meeting, I will submit my donation via check or online payment, per directions sent by GLOW in its post-meeting email and as posted on social media, making every effort to complete my donation within 24 hours of the missed meeting date.
I UNDERSTAND and I AGREE that...
- I must be present at the meeting to exercise my vote; there is no proxy voting or remote voting.
- If I miss a donation then I am not in good standing, and I forfeit my vote and my option to nominate an NPO to the Hat, until the donation is made. If I miss two donations then I forfeit my membership.
- I can voluntarily discontinue my membership for any reason by emailing gahannaglow@gmail.com, prior to the next scheduled meeting, indicating my withdrawal.
- If I voluntarily discontinue my membership, or forfeit my membership due to nonpayment of the commitment donation, and then want to return as a member, I may be required to sit out at least one year before approval to rejoin in the future,
- If I have a SIGNIFICANT conscientious objection to the majority-vote-chosen NPO, I can appeal, once per year and within 48 hours of the meeting, to the GLOW steering committee for a possible alternative solution.
- Photographs and videos taken at GLOW events may include my likeness and may be used in promotional materials and social media posts for, by, and about GLOW.
- My personal contact information is strictly confidential, and will not be shared or distributed by GLOW to any outside third party.
- GLOW is a social club of good Samaritan members and is not a legal entity; it is managed by member volunteers giving of their time and talent for smooth operations; I am an equal stakeholder; I will fully participate in a positive manner, make my donations on time, and help to ensure GLOW's success with its stated mission to Meet. Listen. Learn. And Give.
