2015 Foundation for Amateur Radio Scholarship Application
To qualify for any of the scholarships managed by the Foundation, you must hold a current amateur radio licensed issued by the FCC or by an equivalent organization in a foreign country.

Instructions for the Application Form
There are six questions that ask for essay answers. To make it as easy as possible for you to complete the form in one sitting, we suggest that you complete the essay questions ahead of time in Word or in a text editor, then copy and paste your answers into the form.

When you click on 'Submit' to send the application, you will find a link that allows you to go back and edit the form later.

Here is a list of the essay questions that you will need to answer:

Ham Radio License, Interests, and Activities

Motivation -- What motivated you to become a ham? What aspects of ham radio interest you most?

Activities -- Please give some examples of your recent ham radio activities.

Interests -- List any other hobbies, interests, school and community activities. Include school, civic and other awards that you have received.

College / University - Academic Plans

Major -- Please give your current undergraduate major or degree program sought, or your currenbt graduate program of study. For example: Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics

Motivation -- Why have you chosen this field of study? What would you like to do most for your life's work?

If you are unable, or unwilling, to use our on-line application, please contact me directly (dave.prestel@gmail.com) and provide an explanation of the issue(s). If necessary, I can provide an alternate form of the application to you.

Ultimately, it is our goal to have all applicants use this on-line form. Hence, it is important for us to understand your issues with the use of the form and any problems that you might have encountered when using it.

Your application form data goes directly into an encrypted, password protected PDF file that is available only to the review committee. Your raw input data is not stored on-line.

If you would like to have a copy of the completed application, please send the request to farscholarships@gmail.com. You will receive an encrypted, password protected PDF copy by return email. The password will be sent in a latter transmission.
