Final Public Hearing on “Maverick” Fracking Permit

Arlington City Council will hold their final vote on French fracking giant Total’s permit to add a second drill site with 10 gas wells behind the playground of an award-winning early childhood learning center and nearby three elementary schools. This is Total’s THIRD ATTEMPT to expand drilling in this neighborhood.  Sign up to tell Arlington city council to protect the health of our children by saying NO to the permit.

Please make sure that you complete a Speaker Card and indicate that you are in opposition to the permit.

You can also fill out a card to show opposition and select not to speak. You will raise your hand at the end of the hearing when they ask all non-speakers in opposition to do so.

If you mark "Speaker", you can choose later not to speak, but you cannot ask to speak if you mark "Non-speaker."

The Liveable team will be there to guide you through this process.
Do you plan on stopping by Liveable Arlington's open house before the hearing (4:30-6:30 PM) in Hawkes Downtown Library?

This will be a time to learn more about the permit, write or complete testimonies, and gather with other concerned neighbors. We will have speeches available for anyone who wants to speak in opposition the permit.
