Allergy Management in Schools Training
The Allergy Management in Schools Training developed by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) equips public and public charter school staff with the tools and knowledge needed to safely manage food allergies and anaphylaxis in schools as required by the Access to Emergency Epinephrine in Schools Amendment Act of 2015.
As part of this course, participants will learn how to identify and prevent severe allergic reactions, the proper storage of epinephrine auto-injectors, and protocols for safely administering epinephrine during an emergency. Employees who complete this training will be certified by OSSE to administer emergency epinephrine for one calendar year.
