This survey should take no more than 2 minutes, and will help us gauge interest in a great community resource for the folks of Auburn and all visitors to the region.

A little more about us, we are the South King Tool Library, a community nonprofit that focuses in waste reduction and community resiliency. We have served the South King County region since 2020 at our Federal Way location and we just opened in Auburn at the Outlet Collection.

We strive to create better access to resources and TOOLS! We work just like a traditional library where folks borrow tools (from lawnmowers, to shovels, soldering irons, sewing machines, dehydrators, routers, canning supplies, and so on.) and bring them back when they are finished.

Our Mission: The South King Tool Library provides access to tools and training in order to help maintain neighborhoods, build community and reduce unnecessary consumption with households of all forms including low-income residents and under-served populations.

Tool libraries and libraries of things have inventory that can range widely. From farming tools, to yard tools, to hobbyist tools. What kind of tools might you want to borrow?

Choose as many as you would like.

Basic tools - hammers, drills, hand saws.

Specialized tools - electric saws, tiles saws, nailers, dremels.

Yard tools - lawnmower, dethatcher, aerator, spreaders, weeders.

Hobbyist tools - sewing machine, serger, canning equipment, cricut, hot glue guns.

Adventure tools - fishing poles, kayak, paddle board, tent, canopy.

Are there any specific tools you would like to have?

The South King Tool Library is centered in waste reduction and has found great alignments with additional programming like Repair Cafes, recycling events, swaps, workshops, and classes. What sort of additional resources would be helpful to YOU and YOUR COMMUNITY?

Repair Cafes - free events that pair talneted volunteers with small houshold items that need to be fixed. Things like lamps, vacuums, toys, and mending.

Recycling events - pair vendors for recycling things not accepted in your curbside bin.

Swaps - drop off things you don't need or don't use, like clothes, board games, puzzles, tools, shoes, books, etc. and then shop and get "new to you" items for free.

Workshops - intro to woodworking, upcycled terrarium building, zero waste swaps, bike repair, and more!

Classes - chemical free cleaning, food preservation, growing food in containers, and more!
