As a feminist network, we advocate free access to all sexual information and want to establish a sex-positive communication culture. We consider sexuality to be a pleasurable sexual development that we can always learn more about, far beyond the idea of reproduction. And we consider this sort of sexuality to be a fundamental human right.
With the project “Whores and Saints unite!” we intend to counter the various prejudices against sex work which often stem from unreflective and culturally influenced patterns.
For many people, earning money is the main motive for going to work. However, no profession is stigmatized for this choice as much as people whose work is sex work. Although sex is considered to be something of the utmost beauty by many people, sex workers are often denied the right to practice their profession. This is also because it gives them pleasure. Although they know a lot about the diversity of sexualities, varieties and traumas, they are rarely considered experts. Why is this and who benefits from it?
The activist and artist Polly Fannlaf, known for her work with the Million-Puzzy-Project and PorYes-Award, will be assembling possible answers in a growing audio project. She will be presenting her Whores and Saints Project together with the Freudenfluss Network for the first time during the Aktion Strich-Code-Move from 22.-27.7. at the float on Washington Platz in front of Berlin Hauptbahnhof. There you can take part or just listen and inform yourself. As with the other political actions of the Freudenfluss network, this project is also accompanied by a statistical survey. The more we engage with ourselves and our concepts of sexuality, the more consciously and individually we can appreciate ourselves and others. Knowledge makes you sexy! With the questionnaire and its evaluation you are supporting a statistical survey that can be referred to at any time.
