Police Entrance Exam Application
This is the Police Officer Entrance Exam Application for the joint police officer entry test that is being given by Brunswick Hills Township, Hinckley Township, Medina Township, and Montville Township Police Departments in Medina County, Ohio. The purpose of this Police Entrance Exam is to develop an eligible hiring list for all four departments. Each department has their own requirements and some may require the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Peace Officer Certification. Candidates who successfully pass the entrance exam will be advanced to the Physical Agility testing process. The Physical Agility Test is a pass or fail test, that follows a modified OPOTA standard. The Physical Agility Test is scheduled for Thursday July 21st, 2022, with morning and evening sessions (additional information to follow upon successfully passing the entrance exam). Candidates that successfully pass the Physical Agility test will be placed on an eligibility roster that will be distributed to each agency. Each agency will then follow their own hiring practice, which may include interviews, an in-depth job application, a background investigation, etc.    

This application and testing process is only the beginning step of the process of developing an eligibility list. This application is part one of a two part process for entry into the police entrance exam being given in the main cafeteria of the Medina High School (777 E. Union St. Medina, Ohio 44256) on Thursday July 14th, 2022, at 6:00pm - use the Performing Arts Center entrance, doors will open at 5:00pm. (IMPORTANT: Candidates arriving in the cafeteria after 5:50 pm will be turned away without a refund.)  

***Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all applicants will be required to wear a mask within the High School, until seated for the examination. During check in, each applicant will be required to have their temperature checked and sign a COVID-19 waiver. A temperature of 100.4 degrees or above will result in the applicant being turned away and refunded. We apologize in advance, but due to the nature of how the test is administered, those being turned away for a temperature at or above 100.4 degrees, will not be rescheduled for the police entrance exam.***

The second part of this process requires that each candidate pay a $40 entry fee, either in person or by mail. The fee must be paid by cash, check or money order (credit cards not accepted) - made out to the Montville Police Department (6665 Wadsworth Road, Medina, Ohio 44256) and a receipt of payment or an email receipt of payment confirmation from the Montville Police Department will be required for entrance into the police entry exam. Deadline for the application and payment is 4:30pm on Monday July 11th, 2022.
