2. The Applicant must be ready to serve at all times. Mission Trips aren't vacation trips. If you're looking to simply get out of the house for a week, this trip isn't for you. There will be work. You will be required to serve. Each of us have a role that works best when we work together. The applicant must arrive with the commitment to glorifying God (Matthew 5:16) and to do everything as if it were done to the Lord (Colossians 3:23)
3. The Applicant must show the utmost of humility in serving those of our group. Jesus washed the disciples feet (John 13). Paul instructs us in Philippians 2:1-4 to do nothing out of selfish ambition, but to put others above yourselves. This trip will likely require us to deal with things that may seem inconvenient, such as sleeping arrangements, for example. Leadership (both at Mission Arlington and Rusk FBC) make decisions with everyone in mind. We do our best to be thankful and make the best of what is provided to us. Things may be inconvenient, but that's okay. We aren't going for us, we're going to serve others. That includes our group. As mentioned, in Point #2, the trip goes smoothest when we all work together.
4. The Applicant must respect the authority of both Mission Arlington and Rusk FBC. Every member of our group will be required to follow directions and listen to authority. Those unable to do so will be subject to possible removal from the trip at the expense of the applicant's parent/guardian.
5. The Applicant must respect the grounds and property of and in association of Mission Arlington. We will likely be staying at a sister church in association to Mission Arlington. It's not our house. It's not our property. It is being leant to us. We will be respectful of what is graciously leant to us. Horseplay will not be tolerated.
