Honbussa jokaisen tulee tuntea itsensä hyväksytyksi ja ilmapiirin turvalliseksi riippumatta seksuaalisesta suuntautumisesta, uskonnollisesta tai uskonnottomasta ryhmästä, kielestä, etnisestä taustasta, poliittisesta näkökannasta tai muusta henkilökohtaisesta syystä.    /    In Honbu everyone should feel that the atmosphere is comfortable regardless of ones sexual orientation, religious, atheistic or other values, language group, ethnic minority, political views, or any other qualities regarding the person.

Karate on kontaktilaji ja harjoitukset hyvin fyysisiä ja lähietäisyydellä jopa intiimejä. Tarkoitus on kuitenkin, että kaikilla on niissä mukava ja turvallinen olo.    /    The nature of karate as a contact sport means it can get very physical and even somewhat intimate (i.e. when wrestling) - but it should never make you uncomfortable or afraid of your partner or instructor.
