NOTE: THE 2018-2019 deadline has passed. All applications submitted at this time will go to the waitlist.

The Petworth Playgroup Coop is a collaborative, community-based, and independent cooperative built on the intersections of all members’ skills and resources. Run by parent volunteers and a hired facilitator, we are interested in cultivating a strong community and creative play and learning environment for our children.

If you are interested in enrolling your child please fill out and submit the application below and someone from the coop will be in touch. The application deadline is April 15 and the classes are usually filled by the end of May. We do accept applications throughout the year and keep a wait list in case spots open mid-year.

Each family must participate as a duty parent in the classroom once every 2-3 weeks. You may also be called upon to serve as the “back-up” duty parent in the event the facilitator or scheduled duty parent is unable to serve. Are you able to make this commitment? *
Your answer
Each family must agree to lead and participate in community building and other coop-oriented activities outside of the classroom. This may include cleaning and organizing the classroom and stocking it with appropriate supplies, organizing outreach activities to recruit new families, planning play dates and family potlucks, and other events. Do you agree to initiate, plan and participate in such events and if so, what types of activities are you interested in leading? *
Your answer
Our coop cannot operate without parent volunteers to serve on the coop board. We are actively seeking new members who can contribute energy and resources to provide facilitator support, liaise with the facility’s representatives, recruit new families and facilitate the development of class rosters, organize community events, and maintain our finances. A commitment to joining the board includes attending approximately three in-person meetings per semester, participating in conference calls as needed to address issues as they arise, and responding to emails about the overall management of the coop. It also requires flexibility, a sense of humor, and willingness to work as part of a team in an informal and decentralized manner. Are you interested in making a one-year commitment to join our board? *
