Pittsburgh Botanic Garden - Field Trip Contest
Would you like the opportunity to take your class on a free field trip to the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden? The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is transforming 460 acres of abandoned coal mining land just 10 miles outside the city into a world-class botanic garden. During a field trip, students participate in hands-on group activities led by a garden educator. They explore the unique setting of the garden and discover the plants and animals that inhabit it. Field trip lessons align with PA state and national education standards.

The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden will be selecting 10-15 teachers and their classes to have a free field trip during the 2016-2017 academic year. The criteria is simple: explain how a field trip to the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden would enhance your curriculum.

To be considered, please complete the form below. Teachers will be selected on a rolling basis. Teacher at schools serving under served populations [schools serving low-income communities, or students with other barriers to participating in educational enrichment opportunities] will also recieve a $300 stipend to support transportation costs.
