About the Project
CANTAMOS showcases the diversity of classical music by bringing the fascinating and spirited music of Latin America and Europe to Upper Manhattan. Repertoire will include opera, art song, zarzuela, and popular music.

The goals of this project are:
1) To increase the visibility of classical music from Spanish-speaking countries in the public eye;
2) To engage artists in exploring and performing music from Spanish-speaking countries;
3) To demonstrate to audiences the relevance and inclusivity of classical music.

We’re seeking 3-5 singers for this project, which will culminate in a concert performance on November 5th. In addition to the concert, we’d also like singers to participate in at least one “pop-up” concert (fun and casual) in the third or fourth week of October in Washington Heights to promote the concert.

TIMELINE
1) Rehearsal Period: October 1st-November 4th. Most rehearsals take place weekday evenings and on weekends.
2) Pop-up Concert: 2nd or 3rd week of October
3) Final Rehearsal: Afternoon of Monday, November 5th at 12:30pm. Required. Possibly an open rehearsal with invited audience.
4) Performance: Monday, November 5th at 7:30pm. United Palace of Cultural Arts.

IMPORTANT: This project requires daytime availability on Monday, November 5th starting at 12:30pm
