Join the New Mexico Hunger Fast Day on Thursday April 14th
The New Mexico Collaboration to End Hunger and the New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty ask that you join them with other hunger relief and policy organizations throughout the United States in a national hunger fast to object to proposed cuts to federal programs that provide food and other assistance to millions of Americans at risk of hunger.
The proposed cuts will have a devastating impact in New Mexico which has among the highest rates of poverty, hunger and uninsured in the county. The proposed cuts will compromise the food security of New Mexicans who already face unemployment and increasing food and energy costs.
Please join us in participating in the New Mexico Hunger Fast Day on Thursday, April 14th. We understand fasting is a very personal decision, so we encourage you to participate in the way you feel comfortable. Medical Note: Fasting, especially for an extended period of time, can be harmful to your health and well-being. We urge you to consider any possible health implications before committing to fast. If you have any questions or concerns about the potential health consequences, please consult with your doctor before participating.
