We are a dynamic, exciting, and progressive group of young people experimenting with the co-operative model and principles and adapting this tried-and-tested form of collective organisation for the 21st Century. We do not accept our presently competitive reality; for us collaboration is at the heart of our day-to-day work. We are constantly looking for new ways to communicate, organise, and creatively produce work.
In the past we have run campaigns and educational programmes aimed at getting young people in the UK interested in starting their own co-operatives, including the Young Co-operators Prize, a collaboration between Altgen and Co-operatives UK in which we partnered with 15 universities around the country, engaging over 5,000 young people through workshops, events, and social media, and helped to kickstart and support 6 new youth co-operatives and a national network of young co-operators across the UK and Europe.
This campaign is a fantastic opportunity to reach out to young people, youth organisations, and policy makers in 29 different countries to show them the benefits of workplace democracy and the contribution co-operatives can make to providing long-lasting, empowering change.
As an Illustrator, you will work to research, conceive, design/draw and deliver the Campaign Toolkit being consistent with the Branding Guidelines. You will be working from our space sometimes, free to also retreat and work from you studio, participate in Skype meetings, and meet the deadlines outlined in this document. The approach to this project should be collaborative and harmonious.
We are looking for an Illustrator to create artwork and graphic materials for the campaign toolkit. The expected material outcomes from this campaign include:
+ 1 x Sticker design - to be translatable and scalable across different countries and contexts.+ 1 x Banner design for website, social media pages and newsletter circulation.+ 1 x Animated GIF.+ Graphics for short 60-90 second engagement video for the CICOPA Youth team to go on the campaign website.+ Graphics for video template for cooperatives participants to customise the visual identity of the campaign with their own stories, as a tool to viralize the campaign.+ Illustrated content for the website - to be defined.
+ Experience in digital illustration+ Custom type-faces+ Expert knowledge and experience working with Adobe Suite. + Excellent ability to illustrate for web.+ Strong attention to detail.+ Instinct for typography, colour and materials.+ Thoughtfulness and in the constant search for visual impact.+ Willingness to experiment.+ Proactive and well-organised, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.+ Excellent interpersonal skills; warm, friendly personality
