The Deliberative Tools Access Program provides easy access to deliberative tools, with no need for any review beyond the AI & Democracy Foundation's (AIDF) assessment and confirmation that the tool is being used for societal benefit (e.g. governance, deliberation, peacebuilding, alignment) within a stated remit. It thus enables access to paid tools just as if they were freely available online, for pro-social causes.
This helps support both organizations and independent researchers to experiment, learn, and develop a progressively more robust ecosystem of deliberative tools. This includes large companies, where it may take weeks or months to get a formal agreement in place (and that might never happen without an opportunity to test the tools first), and underfunded projects who would otherwise not be able to use these tools at all.
This is also valuable for service providers of software that can be used as deliberative tools (even that is not their primary use case), as it enables those tools to be used in ways that can have significant positive impact on society, allowing powerful stories to be told about their utility (and potentially even leads to ongoing commercial arrangements if the tools are used at sufficient scale). It may also be helpful for open source non-profit tool providers who want to ensure that even for-profit entities can take positive deliberation-informed societal actions.
Fill out this form if you are interested in either:
1) Using deliberative tools that are part of the access program.
2) Providing a tool to the access program.
3) Requesting we add a tool to our access program (that is not yours).
