WalkSafe Monroe is gathering community input to prioritize advocacy initiatives for better streets and sidewalks, expanded transit, and reduced traffic. Your feedback will help identify areas that need attention and guide advocacy to make Monroe a safer, more accessible place for everyone.

About WalkSafe Monroe:

WalkSafe Monroe is a civic engagement group dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Downtown Monroe, North Carolina, its Historic District, and beyond.

Question 1: In your opinion, which streets in the Downtown Monroe area do you feel have the most significant safety or walkability issues? Please list any streets you think should be prioritized.

Question 4. Would you support expansion of Union County Transportation? (Currently, rides must be scheduled two days in advance and is primarily intended for medical appointments.) *

Is there any other feedback on county-operated transit service areas or availability that you'd like to share?

Question 5: In a recent report by Forbes, Charlotte ranks as the second worst commuting city in the country. WalkSafe Monroe is considering advocating for a program that would encourage businesses in the Charlotte area to adopt remote or hybrid work policies, when applicable. The goal is to reduce commuter traffic into Charlotte, which may also improve traffic extending to Union County and Monroe.
